Web’s largest social shopping site celebrates 5th anniversary and site relaunch with runway show featuring top fashion, tech and media personalities.


(New York, NY — June 3, 2011) — The Internet Week New York festival headquarters at New York City’s Altman Building will feature the first-ever crowdsourced runway show on June 7th from 6pm – 8pm, hosted by Kaboodle, the Web’s largest social shopping destination.

Kaboodle’s Fab at Five Fête & Fashion Show coincides with Kaboodle’s 5th anniversary as well as the major relaunch of the social shopping phenomenon website. The show will feature top fashion bloggers, tech movers and media shakers. All looks will be provided by Bloomingdale’s and inspired by styleboards created by Kaboodle community members.

Now in its fourth year, Internet Week New York has become not only one of the world’s top events celebrating digital culture, but also a global showcase for New York City’s booming technology industry. This year, the fashion extravaganza is just one of more than 250 events that will bring the Internet to life across New York City from June 6 – 13 during Internet Week New York.

To select the fashions that will make their way down the catwalk, Kaboodle hosted a contest inviting fans to create their favorite runway looks and submit them for consideration by the entire Kaboodle community. From the 15 most popular submissions Kaboodle chose 5 winners, all of whom will be flown to New York to model their winning looks on the runway.

Joining the winners on the runway will be New York City fashion, tech and media luminaries including Grace Gold of AOL Stylist, The Luxury Spot’s Bryce Gruber, Yuli Ziv of Style Coalition, Valerie Nome from OK! Magazine, Celebrity Stylist Lauren Solomon, Angel Laws of BuzzMedia’s Concrete Loop, Katy Atlas of Sugarlaws, tech industry tweet-hearts Emily Gannett, Caroline McCarthy, Maya Baratz and Sarah Kunst.
