New York, NY (November 20, 2014) - Grovo, the New York City-based startup that teaches Internet and professional skills through 60-second videos, was named the Best Place to Work in New York City Tech by Internet Week at a special awards luncheon today at The W Hotel in Union Square.

The company earned the highest overall score among 30 finalists in Internet Week’s first-ever Best Places to Work in New York City Tech, which recognizes the companies for creating workplace cultures and policies that are helping to make to make New York City one of the world’s top tech hubs. As part of its prize, Grovo received a specially designed award and a $2,500 gift certificate from Internet Week partner Design Within Reach.

To select the winners and finalists, Internet Week worked with Buck Consultants, which has a century of experience in human-resource consulting, to evaluate submissions based on employer surveys that assessed hiring practices, benefits packages, salaries, office perks, workplace environment and design, and diversity policies, as well as surveys completed by more than 2,000 employees. To be eligible for the competition, companies must have a minimum of 20 employees working full-time in a New York office.
